DID YOU KNOW? You joined the Y to improve your health, right? Did you realize that by doing so, you've helped to build a healthier community? We’ve also learned that the sooner you get started after you take out your membership, the better your chances of sticking with your exercise program and gaining all the benefits. So don’t delay! Call us or introduce yourself to our fitness staff if you want some help to get started.
TAKE A TOUR - A Y staff member will take you on a tour of the facility, help to educate you on what the Y is, share with you the array of membership options, and answer any questions you may have. To take a tour, just stop by the Member Service Desk anytime. It's conveniently located just inside the main Park Street entrance. For doing so, you will receive a one week pass to try the Y So... why not?
CHILDMINDING in PLAYCARE -
Playcare is for ages 6 weeks to 10 months (infants) and 11months to 6 yrs (preschoolers). All other children must be with parents or in programming. We have increased the number of programs for 6-12 years and family programs.
Playcare will be limited for safety and quality reasons to 4 infants (one staff) and 7 preschoolers (one staff). Still a 2 hour time limit – first come first served. There is a fee for use - $1.00 for 30 minutes. Details on the PlayCare page.
FITNESS EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION - We offer a complimentary orientation for members to learn how to use the cardio and strength equipment. Contact Membership Services to schedule your appointment.
PERSONAL TRAINING - Looking for a new challenge or motivation or maybe you are just starting and want to work with a trainer. A certified Y Personal Trainer can be just what you need.
*Our trainers will help design a program to specifically meet your needs and help you achieve your goals, this is an extra fee program
GROUP EXERCISE - All group exercise programs are free for Y members!
PROGRAMS - We have 3 program sessions that typically last 8-12 weeks. View our program guide to see current programs. As a member, you receive inclusive programming as well as priority registration. **Registration for members begins two weeks prior to the beginning of a session. Programs may require in-person registration on the first day of registration.
AQUATICS - YMCA Aquatics is all about safety, skill development and fun for everyone. We have an aquatic program for every skill level and interest. Our programs are about more than just skills and techniques: they are also about building friendships, developing self esteem and creating positive experiences that will last a lifetime.
YOUTH - We offer a host of programs for youth & teens age 3 through 13 that promote healthy spirit, mind and body through intellectual, social and recreational activities. Teens may earn the privilege to utilize the fitness equipment after successful completion of AIM equipment orientation.
Y DAY CAMPS - YMCA Summer Camp is the perfect place for your child to meet new friends, participate in sports and creative arts, explore science and technology, swim, go on field trips, learn about nature, build core values, appreciate culture and diversity, build social skills and of course – have fun!
LOCKER ROOMS - Lockers are available for daily use. Please remember to bring your own lock and secure your belongings when using the Y. You can also use a small locker if you’d like to keep your items safe at the Y. We have a special needs locker room as a good alternative for parents/guardians who are with children that are over the age of 4 and of the opposite gender. Please note: cell phones are not permitted in locker rooms. Please refrain from using phones until you are in common areas.
FITNESS CENTER - The Fitness Center includes a variety of strength and cardio equipment. You are welcome to sign up for a free equipment orientation at the membership desk to learn about the equipment. Youth are required to complete the AIM #1 (10 to 12 years of age) and Aim #2 (12 to 14 years of age) fitness orientation before using the fitness center. Our conditioning area guidelines give you points on how to make your experience and effective and enjoyable one for all.
GYM - We offer classes and open recreation time in our gym. Please view our gym schedule page for current information.
YMCA "AWAY” POLICY- As a YMCA member you have access to Y’s across the country and around the world. A valid YMCA ID is required for use of AWAY privileges. Please call ahead to confirm AWAY participation and restrictions.
BRING A FRIEND - All YMCA of Brockville and Area members are given unlimited complimentary guest passes help introduce the YMCA of Brockville and Area to friends and associates. Please note that each recipient can only receive 4 guest passes.
VOLUNTEER - When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood. As a program volunteer, board member or Strong Kids Campaign fundraiser, you can make a difference for our Y and the community as a whole.
