YMCA Membership Assistance

The YMCA strives to include all members of the community. Through the YMCA Strong Kids: Annual Giving Campaigns, individuals and families can apply for financial assistance in order to participate in YMCA programs and services they otherwise could not afford. We believe as a charity is that no one should be denied access to any YMCA program or service based on their financial circumstances.

How is the Membership Assistance Program Funded?

YMCA Membership Assistance is funded by a combination of sources including the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign. Donations made to the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign are used directly in our community. Through the generosity of Y donors, our goal is to have sufficient funds to ensure our YMCA remains available to all.  These gifts provide opportunities for individuals and families who want and need Y programs, but cannot afford them. To learn more about how you can support the YMCA of Brockville and Area's Annual Giving Campaign: Strong Kids through a gift or volunteering, please see the Opportunities to Give page.

The YMCA of Brockville and Area receives funding for children and youth ages 4-18 years of age are received through the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program. This funding is available for YMCA of Brockville and Area Memberships, YMCA of Brockville and Area Summer Camps and Active Programming (i.e. dance, soccer).  Applications must be done on-line for each child.  The Director of Development or designate at the YMCA will be able to assist in the application process.

Applying for Membership Assistance

Anyone interested in applying for Membership Assistance can be interviewed on the spot. To apply, complete the Membership Assistance application form on the back of this brochure. Once complete, bring in the form along with documentation of your income, proof of your expenses (please see list on the application link) and a void cheque or credit card. Your interview will be an in-person assessment of your financial situation and will be completely confidential. It will take approximately 30 minutes for an interview, a tour and membership sign-up or renewal. YMCA membership terms and conditions apply and you will receive a copy for your records when signing up for or renewing a YMCA membership.
